from the ground up
The company had been in operation since 1998, but for legal and administrative reasons, they needed a rename and a rebrand. So to kick off, I ran a discovery workshop with four of their key decision makers. (For remote workshops like this one, I like to use a combination of a video call and a shared live Google Slide deck with color coded tools for each of the participants.) This would inform everything else from here on out – the brand name, color palette, story, language.
We shortlisted a few name options and finally landed on EverSeed. (My personal vote was in favor of Dig – scroll to the bottom of this case study to see a couple of discards from my scratch files.)
brand elements
The Everseed logo was derived from custom stylizations to the a serif font. A simple leaf forms the central stroke of the E, symbolizing perpetual growth, the bounty of the earth, and a commitment to its responsible stewardship. This was also adapted into a clean monogram. We used earthy, organic colours in keeping with the ethos of the company. Since most brand collateral would be produced in-house on office applications, we used only a single open source font, at different weights and letterspacing. It was an absolute privilege to write a brand manifesto for a company with such inspiring leaders, values and impact.

I don’t often share abandoned ideas or versions. But I particularly liked these two.
